Bean Family Farms is a family-run business built by Sean and Katie Bean alongside their boys — Boden, Maverick, and Dalton — right here on California’s Central Coast. What began through caring for animals and serving families at Creekside Pet Boarding gradually grew into something much bigger: a family farm focused on creating meaningful experiences centered around animals, education, and community.
Our Story
For our family, Bean Family Farms is more than just a business — it’s a lifestyle built around animals, hard work, and raising our boys with a connection to nature, responsibility, and community.
Our journey started through Creekside Pet Boarding, where we’ve spent years providing daycare, boarding, grooming, and training for pets throughout San Luis Obispo County. Over time, we began transforming the property into more than a traditional boarding facility by creating a peaceful “farm stay” experience for pets with open spaces, enrichment, fresh-air play yards, and a more natural farm-like environment.
As the farm around Creekside continued to grow with chickens, ponies, gardens, and other animals, so did our vision for sharing those experiences with other families throughout the Central Coast. What started as a passion project slowly evolved into Bean Family Farms — a place where family experiences, education, animal care, and farm life all come together.
Today, Bean Family Farms brings together Central Coast Ponies & Friends Events, Rent-A-Hatch educational kits, farm-fresh Bean Boys' Rainbow Eggs, our family farm stand, and hands-on experiences designed to help families slow down, connect, and create unforgettable memories together.

At Bean Family Farms, we believe the best memories are hands-on. Whether we’re bringing ponies to birthday parties, helping classrooms hatch baby chicks, or stocking our farm stand with fresh rainbow eggs, everything we do is centered around creating meaningful family experiences rooted in farm life and learning.

We believe children should have opportunities to connect with animals, nature, and the outdoors. In today’s fast-paced world, we’re passionate about creating experiences that slow things down and help families reconnect through learning, play, and shared experiences.
From pony rides and educational hatch kits to caring for animals every day, our goal is to create experiences that feel authentic, memorable, and rooted in community.
While our farm itself is not currently open for regular public visits, we love bringing pieces of the farm directly to families, schools, parties, and events throughout the Central Coast.

What began as a small family vision continues evolving into new educational opportunities, farm products, family experiences, and community connections throughout San Luis Obispo County and the California Central Coast -- and most importantly, a legacy for our children.
